Olio Strawberry Preserves Premium Cold Cured Rosin Review

If the name isn’t appealing enough, the initial scent of Olio’s Strawberry Preserves Premium Cold Cured Rosin is sure to intrigue the senses. From its soft, waxy, just-greasy-enough texture to its incredible effects, it’s an all around solid product. The blend (not cross) between Bloom Seed Company’s Dulce De Fresa #2 (Uva x Strawberry Guava) and Jelly Roller, also called Jelly Roll, gives the strawberry characteristics a stage and a spotlight throughout the entire dabbing experience. All things considered, the name “Strawberry Preserves” fits this harmonious fusion of two strains quite well.

While this cold cure wasn’t the greasiest I’ve seen, it definitely wasn’t dry and it held its own in that it was extremely soft, easily shapeable, and just greasy enough to stick to the sides of the jar but then peel off completely. I received this product from Higher Grade Dispensary in Denver. The white jar was wrapped in Olio’s classic tissue paper twist inside of a limited edition Olio X Skully Vibes box. 

Given that I got this product at room temperature, its texture remained the same at until the gram was gone about three days later. I credit this to the expert cold curing process that Olio is using.

Olio's Strawberry Preserves Cold Cured Rosin greets you with a wave of ripe strawberries and other indistinct fruit notes. The presence of sweet candy notes, and a subtle zing of sour apple candy straws is enough to make your mouth water. It's an all around delicious aroma that sparks curiosity in the senses and leaves you wanting to taste it.

Dabbing the Strawberry Preserves on a quartz banger heated to about 530°F definitely gave way to the high, while vaporizing it in the Puffco Peak Pro at the same temperature yielded better to the flavor. Granted, I did take about a Tic-Tac sized dab on the nail, whereas the Puffco dab was about ⅓ that size. This rosin melted very clean and remained fairly light in color, like the yellowish-amber color of hot tea after it just began steeping.

Upon inhaling the Strawberry Preserves, my tongue was met with sweet vapor and the unmistakable essence of fresh strawberries. Accompanied by a slightly spicy kick, this cold cured rosin offers a well-rounded flavor journey that keeps the taste buds engaged and satisfied. The mix of Dulce De Fresa #2 and Jelly Roll(er) creates a unique flavor that is slightly reminiscent of a toned down cinnamon spiced fruit parfait or creamy oatmeal topped with fresh strawberries and cinnamon.
